IMPORTANT NOTE: Standard European adapters do not work in many hotels within
Interlaken. Switzerland has its own standard which is similar to the European standard,
except that it has the addition of a grounding pin. The below diagram illustrates
the type of adapter required to avoid any disappointment.
Interlaken is a small city in the Bernese Highlands Region of central Switzerland.
Located between two Alpine Lakes. There are two stations: Interlaken Ost (east)
and Interlaken West, the latter is closer to the city centre. Most trains stop at
both stations.

Car:
A well maintained highway and "Autobahn" route connects Interlaken with airports
at Zurich and Geneva as well as most large cities in Switzerland and Europe. "Autobahns"
require a toll sticker. The toll sticker is available at the border or gas stations
and post offices within Switzerland. The annual fee is CHF 40.00.
Bus:
Bus2alps operates direct private buses from Florence, Rome, Paris and Munich to
Interlaken. Travel and accommodation packages are available and small and big groups
are catered for.
Taxis:
Taxis are available from either train station and most hotels. With the guest card
from your hotel, you can travel around Interlaken for free.
Parking:
Parking is available at individual hotels and there is also a car park situated to the rear of the conference venue.
